Launch Ceremony for DSM Measures at Department of Power, Government of Sikkim
The Power Department of Sikkim, in collaboration with BEE and GreenTree Global, held a launch event for the implementation of energy-efficient Geysers, LED Lights, and BLDC Fans on 5th March 2024, under the Capacity Building of DISCOMs program. This program is poised to revolutionize the energy usage profile of the entire region, setting the stage for a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
The launch event was attended by over 60 esteemed officers from Sikkim power department, state government departments, industry representatives, and stakeholders, highlighting the critical importance of adopting energy-efficient appliances. A few prominent attendees at the event were Sh. T.T Bhutia, Chief Engineer, Power Department, Sh. Rabi N Sharma, Chief Engineer (Civil), Power Department, Sh. Thinlay Gyamtso Bhutia, SE cum Nodal officer DSM, Mrs. Sigratha Pradhan, EE Trading & SDA, Smt. Sonam Ongmoo Lepcha, Junior Engineer (HQ), Sh. Paras Mani Sharma, Secretary, SSERC, Sh. Dilip Kumar Sharma, Principal Chief Engineer, Power Department, and Smt. Shova Thapa, Chief Engineer, Power Department.
Energy-Efficient Product Showcased for Launch:
The event showcased advanced, energy-efficient products from industry leaders like EESL, Havells, Signify, and Crompton. These manufacturers demonstrated the significance of integrating state-of-the-art technologies for a sustainable future, aligning with the broader goals of DSM initiatives. Dr. C S Azad, representing GreenTree Global, conveyed a special message on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) emphasizing the commitment of BEE towards demand-side management in the state. He highlighted the significance of walk-through energy audits of industries through BEE empanelled Urja Mitra, energy auditor, allowing industries to benefit from energy audits free of cost.
MoU signing between EESL & Power Dept. of Sikkim:
This significant milestone was achieved during the event with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and the Power Department of Sikkim. This MoU solidifies their collaboration in Demand-Side Management, marking a significant stride toward a greener and more energy-efficient future for the state.
Department of Power, Government of Sikkim team also appreciated GreenTree’s effort in facilitating the signing of the MoU between EESL and DISCOM. The collaboration with EESL and the launching of DSM measures exemplify a united commitment of GreenTree Global towards a sustainable future.
