Jaipur: Workshop for "Capacity Building for DISCOMs" under Demand Side Management Scheme
One-day workshop on “Capacity Building for DISCOMs” under the Demand Side Management Program of BEE was organized on May 2, 2024, at Lemon Tree Premier Hotel, Jaipur. The workshop was organized by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL), SDA, Government of Rajasthan, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India, in coordination with GreenTree Global.
The event drew approximately 50+ officials from RRECL and Jaipur DISCOM. The program commenced with a welcome address by Shri Sunit Mathur, Director-Technical at Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited. He elaborated on the significance of energy efficiency and the pivotal role of energy conservation in technological sectors. Another speaker, Shri Nathmal Didel (IAS), Managing Director of RRECL, discussed the utilization of solar technology to conserve energy in rural farming areas and advocated for innovation promotion. Shri Nathmal Didel praised all the participants for their good work as well.
Dr. C.S. Azad, Mr. Jai Verma, and Mr. Saurabh Taparia were the speakers at the event, each offering unique insights. Dr. C.S. Azad, an Energy Expert, delivered a talk on "Introduction to Demand Side Management (DSM)," emphasizing its significance and benefits through partnerships with energy consumers, along with strategies for promoting energy savings. Subsequently, Mr. Jai Verma, Technical Advisor, elaborated on 'Innovative DSM Strategies, Customer Engagement, and Energy Conservation,' stressing the importance of initiatives like Sanjog. Continuing the discourse, Mr. Saurabh Taparia, Financial Advisor, then discussed 'Financial Management and Investment,' outlining investment avenues in DSM and its financial advantages. The day concluded with a session for questions, followed by a closing address by Shri Naveen Sharma, OSD at RRECL.
The conference buzzed with positivity and enthusiasm, offering participants a platform for gaining rich knowledge and experience. This event represented a significant milestone in GreenTree Global's continuing project activities aimed at adopting effective demand-side management strategies within the distribution company (DISCOM).
